Chanel Rouge Allure in Fougueuse

Chanel recently launched its Spring 2014 collection and in it is this beautiful lipstick: Rouge Allure in Fougueuse (which means spirited or fiery in French). It's a bright medium pink with a satin finish. Chanel describes the formula of the Rouge Allure to be "long-wearing" and "full coverage." Fougueuse lasted on my lips for a bit longer than many of my other lipsticks, about 5 hours or so, and definitely longer than the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, which usually stay on my lips for about 3 hours. In terms of coverage, it's close to full coverage in one swipe but can be built up to the full-on color or can be sheered out with a nice lip balm underneath. It goes on smoothly without tugging on my lips or accentuating dry areas. It was surprising hydrating for a "full-coverage" lipstick but that did wear off after a few hours.

Let's take a moment to admire the packaging *sniffles*... It's GORGEOUS! Compared to the other lipsticks in Chanel's line, the Rouge Allure packaging is by far the most luxurious. As with the others, the case is made out the sturdy, black-lacquered plastic; however this one feels much heavier and substantial. To get to the lipstick itself, you push on the gold cap (actually the base of the lipstick seen in the picture above) with the engraved with interlocking C's and the lipstick pops up and you pull out the golden part. It just makes me feel so fancy every time I use it.

In all, this is a beautiful product: great color, lovely formula, and amazing packaging. Do you need to run out and get it? No, at a price tag of $34, nobody neeeeeds it. But if you are looking for a little luxury in your daily routine, then I highly recommend this. :)

Good luck!
Many hugs,
Coleen
